Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Underarms.
Ideally underarm hair should be about 1/4 inch (6–7 mm) long so the sugar can grip. Very short stubble may not remove well; overlong hair can be trimmed slightly. Exfoliate a day before and avoid deodorant immediately before the service.
Sugaring is generally gentler than waxing because the paste adheres to hair rather than skin. Clients often experience less redness and irritation, making it a better option for sensitive underarm skin and those prone to inflammation.
Most clients schedule underarm sugaring every 3–6 weeks depending on individual hair growth. With regular sessions you may notice slower regrowth and finer hairs, allowing longer intervals between appointments over time.
We recommend avoiding deodorants and antiperspirants for 12–24 hours after sugaring to reduce irritation and allow pores to close. If needed later, choose a gentle, alcohol-free product to minimize sensitivity.
Underarm sugaring is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, though skin can be more sensitive. Avoid treatments if you have medical concerns, consult your healthcare provider, and inform your technician about any changes or sensitivities.
Exfoliate the underarm area 24–48 hours before your appointment and ensure hair is the recommended length. Avoid heavy creams, retinoids, and sunburned skin. Arrive clean and free of deodorant for best results.
