Get answers to common questions about Lip.
Most clients see smooth results for about three to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth cycles and hormonal factors. With regular appointments, intervals often lengthen as follicles weaken, reducing both speed of regrowth and hair thickness over time.
Most clients find lip sugaring less uncomfortable than waxing because the sugar paste adheres primarily to hair and is removed in the direction of growth. Discomfort is brief; topical numbing is rarely needed. Experienced technicians and proper technique further minimize pain.
Arrive with hair about 1/8–1/4 inch long and clean, free of oils, lotions, or makeup. Avoid heavy exfoliation, retinoids, or sunburn for a few days beforehand. If you use topical medications, consult us ahead to prevent irritation.
Temporary redness, mild swelling, or tiny bumps are normal for a few hours after treatment. They typically subside quickly with soothing calming gels. Avoid sun exposure, exfoliation, and heavy makeup for 24 hours. Contact us if prolonged irritation, severe swelling, or signs of infection occur.
Start with appointments every three to six weeks depending on regrowth. After a few sessions many clients extend intervals to six to eight weeks as hair thins. We'll recommend a personalized schedule based on your growth pattern and desired maintenance level.
Sugaring generally reduces ingrown hairs because it removes hair in the natural growth direction and weakens follicles. To prevent ingrowns, exfoliate gently after 48 hours, keep the area moisturized, avoid picking, and schedule regular treatments. Persistent ingrowns can be treated professionally.
