Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Dermaplane.

Dermaplane is a physical exfoliation using a sterile blade to gently remove dead skin and vellus hair. It smooths texture and brightens complexion instantly, without chemicals. Sessions are quick and best performed by trained estheticians for safe, effective results.

Most skin types and tones tolerate Dermaplane well, including sensitive complexions when performed carefully. Avoid during active acne, open wounds, or if using certain retinoids. Your esthetician will assess suitability and customize the treatment to your skin's needs.

No — Dermaplane does not change vellus hair thickness or color. The fine hair may appear more noticeable as it regrows briefly, but it returns to the same texture. Regular sessions maintain smoothness without altering hair growth patterns.

Results typically last three to four weeks, depending on your skin renewal and hair regrowth. Many clients schedule maintenance every four to six weeks. Your esthetician will recommend timing based on results and desired smoothness between appointments.

We offer Dermaplane both as a complimentary add-on to facials and as a standalone service. Combining it with a facial amplifies benefits, but standalone treatments provide immediate smoothing. Discuss options and pricing with your esthetician when booking.

Side effects are usually mild and short-lived: slight redness or sensitivity for a few hours. Avoid exfoliating acids and vigorous sun exposure for 48–72 hours. Apply sunscreen and follow aftercare to minimize irritation and protect fresh skin.
